Arianna Gerig Named NESCAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week

WESTPORT, CONN. – Williams College junior Arianna Gerig has been named NESCAC Women’s basketball Player of the Week for her role in leading the Ephs to their season opener victory 78-67 against the University of Hartford Hawks.

In the game, Gerig achieved a double double with a new career-high of 32 points and matched two other career-highs with 12 rebounds and 7 assists. The junior drained 60% of her field goals with two blocks and two steals. And, she had a great performance at the free-throw line making 8 out of 12 of her shots.

“Ari had a tremendous all-around performance,” said Eph head coach Pat Manning. “She fueled our second quarter run which totally turned the momentum of the game. And, what was most exciting for me about it was that she was explosive on both ends of the floor. She was three assists short of a triple double. Her performance was a totally complete game.”
