Arianna Gerig Named to NEWBA First Team of the Week



WILLIAMSTOWN, MASS.—The New England Women’s Basketball Association (NEWBA) has named Williams College junior forward Arianna Gerig to its First Team for her play last week.
 
When notified of Arianna’s most recent honor Eph head coach Pat Manning, commented, “Very exciting! Ari had a tremendous week and continues to elevate her level of play. She’s getting it done on both ends of the court.”
 
Gerig averaged 20.0 points, 10.7 rebounds, 5.7 assists, 1.7 blocks and 1.7 steals per game during a 3-0 week for the Ephs.
 
She finished with a game-high 28 points, going 15 of 18 from the free-throw line (83.3%), during a 70-60 win over visiting Babson Saturday at Chandler Gymnasium. She also led all players with 11 rebounds and her 7 assists were tied for the most in the game. Gerig also contributed two blocks and two steals. The 15 made free throws were a career-high.
 
She finished with 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds, to go along with 5 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks, in a 53-50 win over visiting Skidmore Tuesday. Then she  tallied a game-high 18 points, to go along with 5 rebounds and 5 assists, in a 52-42 win over Wheaton (Mass.) Friday.
