UPSRTC to Recruit 5,000 Women Conductors Across 21 Districts
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) has launched a major recruitment drive to hire 5,000 women conductors across 21 districts in the state. This initiative is aimed at increasing female participation in the public transport sector and providing women with accessible employment opportunities. The recruitment drive is focused on candidates who have completed their 12th grade (Intermediate) and possess a CCC certificate. Women with additional qualifications such as an NCC ‘B’ certificate, participation in NSS, or awards from the Bharat Scouts and Guides will receive a 5% merit weightage.
The selection process will primarily be based on the marks obtained in the 12th-grade examination, and candidates will be selected through employment fairs (Rojgar Melas) that will be held across the state. These fairs will also facilitate online and offline document verification. The recruited conductors will be appointed on a contractual basis, with postings available in their home districts, ensuring convenience for the selected candidates. The remuneration for these positions will follow the standard rates for contractual staff, and selected candidates will also be covered by accident insurance up to ₹7.5 lakh.
The recruitment fairs will take place at different locations across Uttar Pradesh, starting on February 6 in Noida, Agra, Moradabad, Lucknow, and Gorakhpur, followed by additional fairs in cities like Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Meerut, and Varanasi in the coming weeks. Interested candidates can apply online through the UPSRTC official website, where they can also find detailed instructions on the application process. This drive reflects UPSRTC’s commitment to promoting gender inclusivity and providing women with greater opportunities in the state’s public transport sector.
